Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA)

INDICATIONS

(and many more)

COMPOSITION

It is a food supplement naturally found in eggs and milk. Palmitoylethanolamide does NOT contain sugar, yeast, allergen, sorbitol, magnesium stearate, salicylates or other ingredients.

HOW IT WORKS

PEA is a glial cell modulator. Glial cells are responsible for releasing inflammatory substances that act upon neurons and amplify pain. Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) which also occurs naturally in small amounts in our body, tones down pain with time. Supplementation with PEA encourages the body’s own natural healing and painkilling ability. It’s a natural alternative to pain relief.

SIDE EFFECTS

No significant side effects have been reported. Palmitoylethanolamide can also be taken simultaneously with other medications as there has been no drug interactions reported to date.

DOSAGE

1 x 300mg capsule daily at 8pm for 3 days, then 1 x 300mg  capsule twice daily (8am and 8pm) for 3 days, then 1 x 300mg capsule at 8am then 2 capsules at 8pm. Dose can be increased up to 1200mg daily ( 2 x 300mg at 8am and 2 x 300mg at 8pm). **Available as 300mg and 600mg capsules**

In severe pain, the capsules may be opened and the contents be placed under the tongue (sublingual dose). It may take a few minutes to dissolve.

If pain is not adequately controlled after a month, the dose my be increased to a maximum of 4800mg per day (100mg/kg/day has been proven safe in adults).

Improvement in pain may be seen within one week, but in many cases can take up to 3 months for maximum results.
