Here at Emslie’s Perth Pharmacy, we are locally owned by mother and daughter team Margaret Artelaris and Taryn Boyatzis.
We pride ourselves on the standard of customer care and health services we provide to our local and wider Perth community.
With compassionate and quality care from our pharmacists, our customers can focus on their lives and families with more certainty.
A notable point of difference with Emslie’s Perth Pharmacy is that we offer compounded medications.
Our pharmacists are specifically trained in the preparation of compounded medications.
Pharmacy compounding is the art and science of preparing customised medications for patients. In Australia, with consent from your doctor, we can change the strength of a medication, alter its form to make it easier to take, or add flavour to it to make it more palatable.
We have several unique delivery systems that we can prepare the medications for you.
Some of these delivery systems include:
For those patients who are having a difficult time swallowing a capsule, we can also make a syrup instead.
In the case where some patients find they are required to take “half a tablet” this can be problematic. The tablets can crumble and the chances are that the patient may not receive the correct dosage.
Our pharmacists can make almost any prescription medicine you require in any strength.
Each year more than 140,000 Australians have to go to hospital with problems caused by their medicines. A high percentage rate of these problems can be avoided.
Older people are particularly at risk. If medicines are not used properly, or if the wrong ones are used together, the results can be very serious.
A Home Medicines Review (HMR) is a health care service provided by our Pharmacy here in Perth.
A HMR involves your GP and your accredited pharmacist.
Your GP sets up the review by writing a referral to your pharmacist. Your pharmacist conducts an interview, which could be in the comfort of your own home, and then writes a report back to the GP.
Your GP will discuss any recommendations with you and may make appropriate changes to your medication regimen.
The pharmacist’s review and report is free as it is paid for by the Australian government.
Your GP may bulk-bill or charge you for the GP consultations.
If you would like to discuss further the Home Medicines Review or our compounded medicines, we will be very happy to discuss these with you. We look forward to seeing you at Emslie’s Pharmacy in Perth.
